Buyer’s Guide Condos
Investing in a Siam Royal View Condo on the island of Koh Chang allows you to immerse in the leisurely lifestyle of South East Asia’s most stunning beach resort at a relatively lower cost, both in terms of initial investment and maintenance.
On Koh Chang, the supply of condo projects is very limited, one of the factors being that the majority of land is controlled by the National Parks Department. The few condos that are available for sale or for rent are usually located at main street locations with intense traffic right in front. During the high season, all types of accommodation on the island – and especially so at the high end – are pretty much booked out months in advance.
Make a Lifestyle Investment in a Koh Chang Condo
Siam Royal View’s condominium projects are close to spectacular sandy beaches, lush green nature and a peaceful river. The ferry to the mainland is nearby, there are a variety of local shops in Klong Son Village, and the island’s main tourist and shopping area called White Sand Beach is only ten minutes away.
All our Koh Chang Condos are built with the utmost care and can be configured to your individual requirement. As a company, we are dedicated to providing our owners with the highest quality homes so they can enjoy their lifestyle investment at our award-winning resort on Koh Chang.
As a result, making an investment in a Siam Royal View Koh Chang condo is not only a passport to a stunning, luxury island lifestyle, but it is also likely to prove a sound investment in an area which is destined for a very bright future. Contact our friendly sales team to learn more.
Buying a Condominium in Thailand – The Legal Framework
Many foreigners looking at buying property in Thailand have understandable concerns about the legal position of owning real estate. Here we outline the legal framework for property ownership.
If you are interested in our real estate developments, our team are very experienced in assisting people from overseas with buying property in Thailand. We can give you all the assistance needed to make an informed decision on the legal choices available. We put you in contact with independent, tried and trusted legal advisors that can help make your investment safe, secure and hassle free.
Sale and purchase of condominiums is governed by the Condominium Act of 1979 with its amendment of 2008. An English translation can be found here: https://www.samuiforsale.com/law-texts/new-thailand-condominium-act-2008.html
Foreigners can in fact own a condominium in their own name. Up to 49% of the units in a condominium building may be owned by foreigners. On the resale market, units in a foreigner’s name are trading with slightly higher prices than condominiums under local Thai ownership.
However, since Thai companies are considered “Thai juristic persons” it is also possible to own a condo through a Thai company.
The best solution depends on the buyer’s individual situation and requirements of the real estate investor, and should always be subject to legal and tax counselling.
Obtaining a Mortgage when Buying a Condo in Thailand
Foreigners are entitled to acquire mortgages in their favour as collateral for financial support to Thai persons or Thai companies. There is no period limit on such mortgages.
As with all legal issues, we urge all our customers to consult qualified professional advisors.
